Happy Mothers Day

Today is a difficult day for me. Its great because I have a lovely little boy who I absolutely adore, and who loves his mummy very much, and also blessed to be expecting another little one in June, but difficult because I can't spend time with my mum.
A couple of months ago I took the memory card out of our old camera, and on the main camera memory (which is masked by any memory card) I found about 40 pictures I'd forgotten about, one of which was me and my mum in 2007. I thought I'd share it with you today in memory of my mum.

I also had a photo taken at Christmas with Joey which someone posted on Facebook which I've pinched to show you.

and lastly I have a picture of my little monkey this morning with his present for me, a hand made plate which he decorated last week with daddy!
So to everyone out there, I hope you have a lovely Mothers day, whether you can be with your mum or just have fond memories of her. x

Waltzingmouse blog party - Green/St Patricks/Irish

Next Blog Party on the 17th

Welcome to this months Waltzingmouse blog party, and I was pleased that this time we had the option of just being green, as last year I really struggled with the St Pats theme!!!
Knowing that my FAVOURITE colour is green made this challenge super easy, plus my favourite stamps are trees/leaves/naturals!
I brought out my favourite waltzingmouse stamps, Teeny trees, and got stamping in various shades of green. I started by stamping the card base with the green concentric circles in a lovely pearlised green ink. Next I set about doing my tree scene, and used 3 different shades of green ink with the 3 basic tree shapes. The tree trunks were stamped in walnut stain distress ink. Two little birdies were sat in the middle tree as I am making this card for some friends how have recently moved. I used two of the teeny trees sentiments here and masked them to say Happy Home  - ('happy thanksgiving' and 'come home').
I used my lovely scalloped edgeabilities to add a little extra circley goodness to the card! I hope you like my take on Green, using both green colours, and a green theme (trees!). For a list of all the people taking part head over to the main waltzingmouse blog!

CraftyJc Many Colours Challenge and CASual Fridays

When I saw this months challenge over at CraftyJC - Many Colours, I immediately thought of a rainbow, where else do you see so many colours?!!
So with my newly cherished Martha Stewart butterfly punch I set about punching a variety of colours of butterflies, and as they seemed a little boring on their own I embossed each with a different embossing folder.
The first card I made simply used the butterflies in a grid and a simple sentiment. Each butterfly was raised up with foam pads. The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Teeny Trees, and I made it into a little ribbon shape to add some extra dimension.

The next card also uses some rainbow butterflies, but I just chose 6 and added a ribbon for each. The sentiment featured heavily on this card so I'm also entering it into this weeks CASual Friday challenge.
You can't see the ribbons clearly on the above picture due to the flash, so here's a clearer one.
I hope you like this little flash of many colours!!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 88 - Baby Card

Here is my take on this weeks Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.
I was so pleased to hear that some of our University friends had their little twins this week, and so this was the perfect opportunity to make a card. I printed off their names on the computer and made into tiny banners. I stamped Waltzingmouse polka dots (Offbeat Backgrounds) in Memento Angel pink onto some white card. I then cut some circles from white card using my nesties, and at the same time embossed them with some circles. The background of the circles is a Mariannes Die. I didn't have any pink card to use for my layers and die cuts so I improvised and coloured some white card with my promarkers which worked really well. The butterflies are stamped and punches with a Martha Stewart punch.
The small 'Special Delivery' stamp with the date of birth is from Papertrey Ink, and I made a little flower for it to sit on. Some double ribbon finished it off.
I hope you like my take on the sketch!
